The Politburo held a national conference on criticism and self-criticism in Hanoi on August 13.
This is the second conference of this kind, which aimed at addressing urgent issues related to Party building.
At the first conference held in late February to implement the Resolution adopted at the 4th plenum of the PCC, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said criticism and self-criticism is of paramount importance to the development of exemplary, virtuous models among leaders and managers.
Criticism and self-criticism, as guided in the resolution, should focus on three major issues: firstly, political ideology, ethics, lifestyle and the implementation of regulations on “don’t do” things for Party members; secondly, limitations and weaknesses among cadres; and thirdly, limitations and weaknesses in implementing the principle “Collective leadership, individual in charge”.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong stressed that criticism and self-criticism must be carried out strictly and seriously based on the Resolution.
Besides, this work needs to be done with a high spirit, a strong belief and a transparent roadmap, he added.
Ass.Professor Dr. Ngo Huy Tiep, Director of the Party Building Institute under the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration, said criticism and self-criticism is considered as a sharp weapon for communist parties, especially the Communist Party of Vietnam for growing strongly.
He also emphasized the need for all Party members and Party organizations to conduct criticism and self-criticism within the law.
